The Cameras We Use

The Cameras We Install

Testing has now finished and it is turning out to be one of our top cameras to be installed in 5mp or 4k. outstanding visuals, metal casings and pack with AI features that many cameras on the market are not capable of. This is a digital achievement in camera technology and one that we are very happy to install.

The camera comes with an active deterrence by utilising the blue and red warning lights which can be linked to the alarm siren or a voice warning ensuring that intruders are well aware that they have been detected and recorded. Colour night vision is also impressive when used, this can be set to be on during the whole of the night or can be activated when an intruder has been spotted this is achieved under the duel illumination feature that allows infrared as standard viewing and then a mini white light spotlight activation on recording.

As well as the above useful tools this camera has, additional features such as a speaker and microphone, virtual trip wires and intrusion zones. Face recognition is also an additional bonus as well as smart detection to distinguish between vehicles and humans, plus many other configurable options.

How do we decide what to use??

HomeSideSecurity only use the best and our pressure testing is as tough as it gets for our kit.

So, what else do we use???...... well, that's a little secret of ours, but what we can tell you is if it passes our tests and meets the grade then it gets brought into our line.

Our Systems range 2mp, 5mp and 8mp in both Power over Ethernet (POE) and Analogue. With Recording boxes ranging from 4 Channels up to 32 Channels. Our systems enable us to provide you with an install specific to your property needs, Fixed lens cameras, Manual Varifocal, Motorised, Pan Tilt & Zoom (PTZ) and much more.

Can you have a mixture of cameras? ...........you sure can!!

We Test End to End

What do we look at? well to give a little snippet of what we look at ....

  • Camera housing (Is it durable, is it weather proof, can it take a knock or hit and not be affected)
  • Camera (Night and day testing, Frames per second, engineering options within the camera, Night vision distance, low light , glare reduction, HLC, (D)WDR, BLC, etc etc, there's lots more!!
  • Cable - we use 2 different types of cable for BNC and POE.. Industrial/Commercial and Domestic. (Our cable is not off the shelf or from the high street out of a box)
  • DVR/NVR - How user friendly the operating system is. Control over configuration of cameras , Networking capabilities, Security of system and will it lock down if breached.
  • Remote app - Ease of use, remote options, how much can be controlled (we aim for at least 90% of what can be controlled at the DVR/NVR should be controlled via the app), playback and saving of footage, camera configuration etc
  • Even more, when we get your kit, prior to install it goes through a full factory reset and set up from scratch so we know you are getting a system that is set up by us and not at the factory.

Do we buy shop bought kits ?

CCTV at the moment is a mine field, you can happily go out and buy a system from the shops or from online consumer stores and expect to get a system that will be fit for purpose. Unfortunately, this is where the whole experience starts to break down. You do not know what you are getting.... fortunately for you... we do!.. So the short answer is "NO" we do not buy from the high street. We work with a trusted and dedicated supplier of CCTV.
