test of test

Well, how the hell do you start these.. because I have no idea, so I guess I am just going to start.

No waffling , straight to the point.. Conduit or no conduit. That’s the title that’s the question..

Ive been installing CCTV for a while now, and as much as i finish a job and stand back and say “yes, that was spot on”… There are still times I stand back and go “Maybe I could have just tweaked that a little more? Maybe I could have done it this way?” I am always questioning and critical of the work I do post install. I can plan as much as I would like, but I always take a step back and pick faults , when in fact there isn’t actually anything wrong to wandering eyes. I am sure there are many people in the trade that look at ways of improving.

Now here is the thing, we have satellite and telecommunication companies that install at houses, we see the cables hanging, we see brick burst plates, we see cable clips either too big for the cable or the cable clip pin above the cable rather than below. Here’s my question, if these big organisations are the “expected” standard, should we as CCTV installers pull out all the stops to ensure that the installs we carry out do not fall below? And more so, if we are pulling out the stops should we relax a little to the level to the standards of the big company installers.

If they can get away with this, then why shouldn’t we?
